My approach to teaching acting is guided by a commitment to nurturing well-rounded, collaborative, and empathetic artists who can not only excel in their craft but also contribute meaningfully to their community.
As a transcultural artist, I foster a learning environment that fully committed to decolonization, empowerment, rigor and radical care.
Acting is a reflection of the human experience. I am committed to creating a classroom environment that celebrates and welcomes students of all backgrounds and perspectives. Being a first generation Mexican-American who grew up on the border, I know that diversity in the classroom not only enriches the learning experience but also prepares the students to engage with their craft, life and world with authenticity and empathy.
Mi enfoque de enseñanza está guiado por mi compromiso y dedicación en crear y nutrir un ambiente en donde artistas. No solamente tendrán éxito en su trabajo, pero contribuirán a su comunidad. Como un artista transcultural fomento un entorno de aprendizaje que está completamente comprometido a Des colonización, empoderamiento, rigor y cuidado radical.
Actuar es una reflexión de la experiencia humana. Estoy comprometida a crear un ambiente en mi salón de clases que celebra y dar la bienvenida a estudiantes de todas experiencias. Ya que soy la primera generación mexicana americana que creció en la frontera, Sé que la diversidad enriquece no solamente el aprendizaje, pero prepara los estudiantes a comprometerse en su oficio, vida y el mundo con empatía y autenticidad.

I structure the classroom as an open laboratory where we experiment with existing methods, scripts, ensemble collaboration and with the generation of new work.
Estructuro mi salón común, laboratorio abierto, donde experimentamos con métodos conocidos, guiones, colaboración, de conjunto y con la generación de nueva obras.
I hope to encourage a place where we can question the established ways of making theatre and begin to investigate for new ways that include those in marginalized communities that were left behind.
Espero tener un lugar en donde pueda, podemos cuestionar las maneras establecidas de teatro, y empezar a investigar nuevas maneras que incluyan aquellas comunidades que se han quedado atrás.
